2. TELEHEALTH: WHAT IT MEANS
Telehealth allows healthcare services to be provided using electronic communication when you and the provider are not in the

same physical location.

Telehealth may include:

  • Video consultations
  • Review of health history and self-reported information
  • Discussion of lab results and genomic data
  • Important to know:
  • Telehealth is not emergency care
  • Telehealth has limitations compared to in-person visits
  • You may choose in-person care at any time


3. WHERE TELEHEALTH IS AVAILABLE

Telehealth services are provided only to patients physically located in California or Texas at the time of the appointment, unless otherwise legally permitted.


You will be asked to confirm your physical location before services are provided.


4. WHEN A DOCTOR–PATIENT RELATIONSHIP EXISTS
 A doctor–patient relationship does not begin simply by visiting the website, reading content, or submitting a contact form. A doctor–patient relationship begins only after:

  • Services are requested
  • Required intake and consent forms are completed
  • Telehealth consent is provided
  • The provider accepts you as a patient
  • Until then, all information is for educational purposes only.


5. FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE APPROACH

Functional medicine focuses on:

  • Whole-person health
  • Biological systems and patterns
  • Lifestyle, nutrition, and environmental influences
  • It is not a substitute for emergency care or conventional medical treatment.


6. GENOMICS SERVICES: WHAT THEY ARE (AND ARE NOT)

Genomics services may include:

  • Reviewing genetic test results from third-party labs
  • Explaining how genes may interact with lifestyle and environment
  • Educational discussion of biological pathways
  • Genomics services:
  • Do not diagnose a disease
  • Do not predict medical outcomes
  • Is not genetic counseling
  • Do not replace medical care
  • Genetic information is probabilistic, not deterministic, and scientific understanding continues to evolve.


7. NO EMERGENCY CARE

Telehealth and website services are not appropriate for emergencies.

If you have a medical emergency:
 Call 911 or seek immediate in-person medical care.


8. PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect personal and health information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Please note:

  • No electronic system is completely risk-free
  • Third-party labs and platforms have their own privacy policies
  • You are encouraged to review those policies carefully.


9. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A PATIENT

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Disclose your physical location honestly

  • Seek additional medical care when appropriate
